Hormones
Hormone imbalance doesn’t always show up as one big issue. More often, it’s a collection of changes that slowly affect how you feel day to day. If hormones are out of balance, people usually notice a combination of these:
Constant fatigue — feeling tired no matter how much you sleep
Weight gain or trouble losing weight, especially around the midsection
Low libido or changes in sexual health
Mood changes like irritability, anxiety, or low motivation
Brain fog — poor focus, forgetfulness, or mental sluggishness
Sleep issues — trouble falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up wired
Lower stamina — workouts feel harder, slower recovery, or loss of muscle tone
At Lunara Integrative Health, hormone care starts with taking these symptoms seriously. You’re not told “it’s just stress” or “that’s part of aging.” We look deeper. We run comprehensive labs. We talk through your symptoms. We look at patterns like energy, sleep, mood, metabolism, focus, and overall function because hormones influence all of it. When levels are off, life can feel harder than it should.
Hormone therapy, including HRT and TRT when appropriate, is about restoring balance — not extremes. The goal isn’t to change who you are. It’s to help you feel steady, clear, and more like yourself again.
Treatment is personalized and adjustable. Depending on your needs, this may include:
Injections
Topical creams
Oral options when appropriate
We choose methods that allow for careful dosing and ongoing adjustments, which is why we do not use pellet therapy. When your body changes, your treatment should be able to change with it. Throughout care, we monitor labs, track how you feel, and fine-tune along the way so improvements are safe, gradual, and sustainable.
What Is Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT)?
Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is a medical treatment that helps restore hormone levels when the body isn’t producing enough on its own.
Hormones act as chemical messengers that regulate major functions like energy, mood, sleep, metabolism, brain function, and sexual health. When levels drop or become imbalanced — due to aging, stress, or other factors — people often start to feel “off” in ways that affect daily life.
HRT works by bringing those levels back into a healthier range so the body can function more smoothly. The goal isn’t to create extremes or “boost” beyond normal — it’s to restore balance, improve how you feel, and support long-term health under medical supervision.
What Is Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT)?
Testosterone Replacement Therapy (TRT) is a form of hormone therapy used when the body isn’t producing enough testosterone. When levels decline, people often notice gradual changes that affect daily life and overall wellbeing.
TRT helps bring testosterone back into a healthier range so the body can function more optimally.
While testosterone is often associated with men, all humans produce testosterone, just in different amounts. When levels are low and symptoms are present, testosterone support may be appropriate for some women as well, using carefully adjusted dosing and close monitoring. The approach is always personalized based on labs, symptoms, and overall health.
Why We Don’t Use Hormone Pellets
At Lunara Integrative Health, we believe hormone therapy should be precise, adjustable, and responsive to your body. That’s why we don’t use pellet therapy.
Pellets are small implants placed under the skin that release hormones over several months. While this sounds convenient, the biggest challenge is that the dose can’t be changed once it’s in.
Hormones don’t work like a light switch. Your needs can shift based on stress, sleep, weight changes, life stage, and how your body responds to treatment. With pellets:
If the dose is too high, you have to wait it out
If the dose is too low, you can’t adjust quickly
Side effects can’t be corrected easily
Fine-tuning treatment is limited
We prefer methods like injections and topical options because they allow for careful dose adjustments and closer control. This means we can respond to your labs, symptoms, and how you’re actually feeling instead of being locked into one level for months.
Hormone care should evolve with you. Flexibility allows treatment to be safer, more comfortable, and more personalized over time.
Our goal is steady improvement — not guessing and hoping the dose was perfect on day one.
